What’s New in EzeScan Desktop Suite - March 2026
Over the past year, we’ve delivered a substantial round of enhancements across the EzeScan Desktop Suite - with a strong focus on scanning performance, image quality, operator usability, workflow reliability, and deeper integrations with the document management, finance, and legal systems our customers rely on every day.
Whether you're running high‑volume scanning operations, working with advanced hardware like Kodak Alaris or Canon DR scanners, or connecting EzeScan into your organisation’s mission‑critical business systems, these improvements make EDS more powerful, more flexible, and more efficient than ever.
Below are the highlights we think you’ll love.
Enhanced scanning experience
Improved QA Viewer for Better Context
The QA window displayed during scanning now includes an enhanced viewer panel capable of showing multiple rows and columns of large thumbnails. This gives operators clearer context of where each page sits within a batch and improves visibility of page content during review.
TWAIN Scanner Tab Enhancements
We’ve upgraded our TWAIN integration to version 2.5.1 to stay aligned with the latest updates from TWAIN.org. Alongside a refreshed layout for the Advanced Scanner Settings form, we’ve implemented a range of new TWAIN features supported by Canon, Fujitsu, and Kodak Alaris devices.
A standout addition is support for Double Feed Detection Response. On compatible scanners (e.g., Kodak Alaris i4X50/i5X50, Fujitsu Fi‑7900), operators now benefit from interactive recovery when a double feed occurs. The scanner driver displays the affected pages and allows operators to accept or reject them. If accepted, scanning resumes automatically; if rejected, operators can re‑scan the affected pages from the ADF.
Operator Usability Improvements
Move Job Button Functionality
A new Move Job Button option makes it significantly easier to reorganise job buttons across button pages — no more deleting and recreating buttons just to reposition them.
Discovery OCR: Multiple Result Selection
Discovery now offers the option to return multiple OCR results that best match the search criteria, allowing operators to choose from a list rather than relying on a single returned value.
Simplified Support Bundle Creation
We’ve streamlined the process of generating a support bundle for EDS tickets. Operators can now create a zipped support file automatically, eliminating the need for manual zipping.
Email Processing Enhancements
New Email Link Extractors for MYOB & Attache
We’ve added two new email link extractors that automatically download invoice attachments from MYOB and Attache emails, making invoice ingestion faster and more reliable.
Integration Enhancements: Extended Capabilities Across Document Management, Finance, and Legal Systems
Across the past year, we’ve delivered a steady stream of enhancements to our integration, strengthening how EzeScan connects with leading document management platforms, financial systems, and legal practice management solutions. These updates focused on improving authentication, expanding configuration options, refining search accuracy, and delivering smarter workflows that help our customers move information more efficiently between EzeScan and their backend systems.
Document Management System Enhancements
For OpenText Content Manager, we’ve enhanced our Service API integration with support for OpenID Connect, new options for marking records as enclosed, and the ability to populate both the Representative and Location properties when uploading revisions. We’ve also added the ability to remove an existing revision during upload and introduced a bulk import option that allows all revisions matching search criteria to be downloaded — a key requirement for our new EzeScan Web Apps DRA module.
Our integration with Objective Nexus has also been refined, with a new Test Connection button to simplify server validation and improved authentication reliability through the use of Refresh Tokens when available.
For OpenText Content Server and DocuWare, we’ve added full OAuth 2 authentication support, ensuring more secure and modern connection methods.
We’ve also confirmed compatibility with EDocs 25.2, and for Azure Blob Storage, we’ve introduced name‑conflict handling that behaves more like traditional filesystem sub‑versioning, giving administrators more predictable control over file versioning.
Finance System Enhancements
For TechnologyOne CIA Financials, our Service API integration now supports searching on dynamic fields using Contains or Equals operators, duplicate invoice checking against TIP, and the inclusion of recurring document fields during invoice upload. We’ve also added account number validation by chart name to help prevent data entry errors.
Our Civica Authority integration has been enhanced with more detailed item information displayed in the Available PO Search dialog, along with improved handling of invoice attachments during upload.
Additionally, our Link4 – Peppol integration has been extended with support for additional invoice fields, ensuring richer and more complete data exchange through the Peppol network.
Legal System Enhancements
For LEAP, we’ve enhanced matter search logic so that the Matter Type column now displays concatenated MatterType and CustomDescription values, mirroring the behaviour of LEAP’s desktop and web clients. We’ve also added trace logging to assist with diagnosing search issues and introduced the ability to send notifications to the Person Acting and Person Assisting whenever documents are uploaded to a matter.
For both Practice Evolve and LEAP, we’ve added Matter Status as a configurable option within Matter Search settings, giving users more control and visibility when locating and managing matter‑related documents.
What’s next?
As we continue to evolve the EzeScan Desktop Suite, our focus remains on delivering practical, high‑impact improvements that help organisations work smarter, faster, and with greater confidence in their information workflows. Many of the enhancements in this release were shaped directly by customer feedback, and we’re committed to keeping that collaboration at the heart of our development process. If your team has ideas, requests, or feature enhancements you’d like us to consider, you can easily submit them through the EzeScan Support Portal — we welcome every suggestion that helps us make EzeScan even better.
