Fresh Features, Faster Workflows: What’s New in WebApps

Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work evolving the EzeScan WebApps experience introducing a steady stream of new features and functionality designed to save you time, simplify administration, and make your workflows smarter than ever. Some enhancements are big, some are subtle, but every one of them is built to boost efficiency and give you more control over your information.

Whether you’re an end user powering through documents, an admin responsible for configuration, or a team managing mission‑critical workflows, there’s something here you’re going to love.

Let’s dive into what’s new.

A Smoother, Cleaner Experience for End Users

We’ve made a few small but meaningful updates to improve the overall user experience. The Intray has been given a light visual refresh to make it cleaner and easier on the eye, while RIA Queues can now support high‑resolution thumbnail hover so users can quickly preview documents without opening the full RIA page. And during indexing, required fields are now marked with a simple red asterisk, making it clearer which details need to be completed before moving on.

Admin Enhancements That Make Configuration Effortless

On the admin side, we’ve introduced a handful of thoughtful enhancements designed to make configuration quicker and more controlled. App Pages now display a helpful alert if they’re already open elsewhere, reducing the risk of overwriting work in progress. Field management has been streamlined with new bulk‑delete capabilities, and teams with multiple administrators can now assign page owners to ensure only the right people can make edits. We’ve also made it easier to build out fields that require multiple values—like dropdowns, checkboxes, and radio buttons—by allowing admins to bulk add options using simple delimiters such as commas or line breaks. And behind the scenes, personal queues now automatically follow a user if their email address changes, ensuring all their files move with them without requiring any manual updates.

Introduction of a New App Page

We’re excited to introduce a brand‑new App Page: Document Repository Analyser (DRA) — a powerful addition to the EzeScan WebApps Suite designed to simplify the discovery, analysis, and ingestion of documents across an organisation. DRA can be configured to automatically crawl network file shares, email servers, and supported EDRMS platforms, identifying and cataloguing documents wherever they reside. As it scans, it builds a comprehensive inventory of files, capturing key metadata such as repository name, file name, location, creation date, and processing status. This provides organisations with clear visibility into their information landscape and a faster, more controlled way to prepare content for intelligent processing workflows.

Smarter Workflows

We’ve expanded the power and flexibility of workflows with several enhancements designed to make automation smarter and more resilient. Validation rules can now compare values between fields, enabling more precise and intelligent form logic. Pre‑processors have also been upgraded: they can now populate default values or run lookups automatically, and a new toggle allows certain pre‑processors to fail without stopping the entire chain — perfect for complex workflows where you want processing to continue even if one step isn’t critical. We’ve also added ZIP file support to the converter pre‑processor, allowing files to be imported and processed directly from within a ZIP archive, eliminating manual extraction steps. And to further strengthen compliance and information governance, workflows can now detect personally identifiable information (PII) within documents, providing an extra layer of insight and control during processing.

Performance, Speed & Platform Gains

Behind the scenes, we’ve made the platform faster and more scalable. Large event databases now query more efficiently, form counts load quicker thanks to improved database indexing, and OCR processing is significantly faster through multi‑threading. Combined with the move to Microsoft’s .NET 10, these enhancements deliver a smoother, more responsive experience for high‑volume environments.

Better Reporting & Security Visibility

We’ve strengthened reporting and audit capabilities with a new option to export user access logs for any selected date range. This gives administrators clearer visibility into system activity, supports compliance and audit requirements, and makes it easier to track exactly who accessed the platform and when.

Integration Enhancements

In the document management space, we introduced several new inbuilt connectors including OneDrive, OpenText eDOCS REST, and Objective Nexus making it easier than ever to integrate WebApps into existing content ecosystems. Our OpenText Content Manager integration also received multiple upgrades, including support for OpenID Connect, the ability to look up location and record properties, and new options for handling record revisions during upload processes.

On the finance side, we delivered a suite of refinements to our TechnologyOne Financials CiA integration. These enhancements improve validation accuracy, extend search capabilities, streamline invoice processing, and support more complex workflow scenarios. Highlights include smarter duplicate checks, recurring document field support, dynamic field searching, improved supplier lookup, and more flexible validation rules.

Within legal systems, we added new capabilities to our Prime Ecosystem and Imanage Work Integrations. Prime Ecosystem now supports job attachment uploads, while our iManage Work integration has been enhanced with workspace owner visibility and improved user search functionality through email address support.

What’s Next?

This past year has been all about delivering performance, usability, and automation gains and we’re only getting started. These enhancements lay the foundation for even more powerful capabilities coming soon.
